Objectives – About the Role
Reporting to the VP of Product, the UX/UI Designer will be a key member of the product team, working closely with the Senior UX/UI Designer to execute and elevate the existing design strategy at SMA Technologies. You will focus on refining the user experience for both new and existing products, collaborating cross-functionally to implement intuitive, user-centric designs that enhance usability and functionality across our product portfolio.

Competencies:
Wondering if you’re a good fit? If so, at your core, this is who you are:
Passionate about the entire user experience: You think in more than just wireframes, you think in experiences aiming to deliver value with ease-of-use and spontaneous customer delight. You care about what it’s like to use the product—in its entirety.
Effective, efficient wireframer: Skilled in organizing information effectively, creating user flows, and developing wireframes that form the structural foundation for intuitive user interfaces.
Insatiable desire for user understanding: Learning is one of your core motivators. You dive deep with empathy and understanding for the user you’re designing for. You are eager to learn how and what the user thinks, feels, explores, dislikes, expects and know just how to meet their needs with effective designs.
Adaptable and velocity minded: You excel in environments where all the answers aren’t ready and know where and how to get them.
Effective planner: Thinking ahead is your strong suit. You plan ahead with your designs, building templates that are flexible enough to incorporate unexpected changes.
Organized: Deep inside you’re a closet project manager; an organizer who gets a certain buzz from crossing things off that to-do list.
Attentive to detail: Does not let important details slip through the cracks or derail a project.
Collaborative: You want to work independently but you want to be part of a high-functioning team able to bounce ideas off your team members to help them and for them to help you.
What’s In It for You?
At SMA, we pride ourselves on ensuring that our employees are taken care of and that you have what you need to succeed in and out of work. In addition to competitive compensation, we provide:
How We Work – Our Core Values
Be Kind – We are kind and helpful. We care and act with empathy. We take care of ourselves, each other, and our customers. We understand boundaries. We believe clear is kind.
Be Collaborative – We unite for a common cause, in pursuit of the best idea, not our own idea. As a remote company, we must work to collaborate and work to communicate to make a difference, an impact. We do this for our teams and for our customers.
Be Determined – Giving up is not in our nature. We are smart people who solve tough problems. We achieve our goals. We have a bias toward action. We deliver success for customers, ourselves, and each other.
Be Authentic – We are genuine. We are real. No pretenses. We know ourselves and celebrate our differences of thoughts, ideas, and skills. We show our true self—our whole self—every day. We unlock our teams’ potential by unlocking each other’s potential.
