The UX Research Intern is responsible for conducting research related to various aspects of the Signet user experience. Signet is seeking an intern who can support and grow into leading both generative and evaluative user research, as well as usability studies, with the ability to develop research protocols, distill insights, and make recommendations with minimal supervision. The intern will support multiple projects from defining challenges to deriving insights and conducting usability testing, utilizing Design Thinking and Agile development approaches.
Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
• Identify and frame research problems effectively
• Collaborate with Research Strategists, Designers, Producers, and cross-functional teams throughout the end-to-end process using Agile design methods
• Advocate for UX principles to ensure that every project, regardless of size, begins with a focus on user needs, empathy, strategy, and a well-defined problem to solve
• Uncover meaningful insights from both quantitative and qualitative data, utilizing first-, second-, and third-party sources
• Work closely with internal analytics partners to track the performance of solutions and leverage that data to inform future design iterations
• Manage multiple workstreams with varying timelines and complexity, demonstrating initiative and passion
• Effectively package concepts and insights, delivering presentations to internal stakeholders in a persuasive and compelling manner—storytelling skills are essential
Position Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in and pursuing a degree in human factors, psychology, communications, or a related field
• Expected graduation date of May 2026 preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Experience moderating and designing task-based usability studies, as well as conducting in-depth contextual customer interviews and surveys
• Ability to lead stakeholder interviews, secondary research, and design-thinking workshops
• Experience with design research methods, including research design, journey mapping, design workshops, insight distillation, storytelling, and developing principles and concepts aligned with an ideal customer journey
• Skilled in identifying customer, cultural, and competitive insights and writing research and creative briefs
• Experience with the UX and technical aspects of eCommerce platforms
• Familiarity with various digital/mobile research tools, software, and equipment, such as UserTesting, dScout, Miro, etc.

• Remote: Open to all candidates regardless of location
Part-time internship (20 hours/week) for 6-9 months.
The salary range for this opportunity is $23.00-24.00/hour. Base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
