As part of a Global team, you’ll be a pivotal part of our agile squads, where you will be the link between our business partners, product owners and the development team. You’ll learn about meaningful FinTech trends and help deliver key FinTech projects that help Investment and Distribution teams modernize the way they work to achieve their goals.
As a contributor to the vision and product strategy for the initiatives the team undertakes, where we can improve our ability to be forward-thinking and agile to move quickly, iterate on ideas, and quickly show value. You will be comfortable taking a Design Thinking approach to evolving ideas collaboratively with business partners, the use of UX/UI and visual prototyping will be a key part of defining our products. You will define user stories and prioritize the backlog in line with business/partner priorities, working closely with other squad members. You’ll also have a pivotal role in monitoring quality of delivery and accept work as it is completed. You enjoy the challenge of researching new trends, and your presentation skills are key to share this information, preparing communications and tracking initiatives. Your approach is to start with ‘why’ we do something, rather than ‘what’ we do.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
- Owns and maintains our visual design system, in coordination with marketing & branding to align to Invesco’s broader guidelines.
- Striving to identify and promote the ‘art of the possible’ innovative solutions, often breaking new ground and pushing the boundaries of what is normal and comfortable.
- In addition, a focus on feature roadmap coupled with a plan to ensure maximum targeted/strategic adoption.
- Assists our product owners to translate product roadmap features into well-defined product requirements including features, user stories, and acceptance test criteria with consistent, intuitive look and feel.
- Collaborates with non designers on the team on design standards, quality.
- Determines the next steps to advance products with regards to delivering the highest business value.
- Proactively identify, resolve, or call out issues, concerns, and impediments to get the project developed over several sprints.
- Provides final sign-off for projects.
- Can visually articulate the vision and plan succinctly for reporting and awareness.
Work Experience / Knowledge:
- Ideally coming from a fast paced start-up/FinTech environment, where you will have had responsibility for managing products with from idea to market launch
- Demonstrable track record of creating product strategies to rapidly grow products aligned to business value, working product & UX portfolio of work
- Exposure to the Financial services sector would be advantageous, however the ability to effectively communicate the vision and get consensus from all participants is essential.
- You will have experience as a Scrum Product Owner, working with Agile Delivery Teams, utilizing Agile techniques e.g Scrum/Kanban.
Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required:
- A passion for emerging technologies, tinkering, learning and teaching others
- Experience of Design Thinking, UI/UX, design system
- Understanding of design tools inVision, framer.io, sketch, etc..
- Basic understanding of CSS, HTML, JavaScript and other styling/programming languages
- Hands on experience designing mobile and desktop applications
- Balance of technical knowledge and business acumen, Financial Services experience would be an advantage, however awareness of how technology is inspiring change across industries and experienced in how it can be used within the organization
- SA driver, decision maker, decisive, effective team collaborator.
- Should be organized, self-motivated, highly adaptable, and have a strong desire to adopt change.
- Solid collaboration and interpersonal skill. Can engage daily with the team.
- Outstanding leadership and motivational skills - possessing a willingness to empower as well as inspire commitment and positive attitude in the team
Formal Education:
- Educated to Graduate level, post graduate qualifications (MBA,CFA) would be a plus.
