About Drift
Drift is a startup on a mission to support immigrants in Europe, starting with Germany. Our app simplifies the visa process for individuals and businesses by offering self-service tools and lawyer-assisted solutions. Backed by VC funding and led by a Stanford alum founder, we’re building a platform that blends technology and legal care to make immigration more humane, accessible, and transparent.
What You’ll Do
As a UI/UX Design Intern, you’ll work closely with the founder and product team to design meaningful, intuitive experiences for people navigating high-stakes immigration processes. Your work will directly shape how users feel when they interact with Drift — calm, confident, and in control.
- Help improve the design of our core product flows — onboarding, form-filling, document uploads, consultation booking.
- Create user journeys, wireframes, and high-fidelity designs in Figma.
- Apply (and help evolve) our new brand and design system.
- Conduct informal user testing and incorporate feedback to iterate.
- Bring empathy and clarity to every touchpoint — especially for users under stress.
Who You Are
- Currently studying design (or self-taught with a portfolio of thoughtful UX work).
- Interested in the intersection of tech, migration, and social impact.
- You care more about clear, usable design than flashy visuals — but love making things feel beautiful too.
- Comfortable in fast-moving, early-stage environments. You’re not afraid to ask questions, and you don’t wait to be told what to do.
- Proficient in Figma (or willing to become fluent fast).
- Bonus if you’ve designed forms, legal tools, or onboarding flows before — or if you’ve personally navigated immigration yourself.
