We’re on the lookout for a sharp, creative, and delightfully curious Product Designer to join our merry band of builders. In this role, you won’t just move pixels—you’ll move people. You’ll take charge of the full design journey: from deep-diving into user research and sketching wild ideas, to crafting polished prototypes that make our engineers cry (with joy). If you get a kick out of making complex things feel easy—and maybe secretly judge bad UX in the wild—this one’s for you. Bonus points if your Figma files are cleaner than your kitchen drawer.
You'll play a key role in shaping how millions of users discover, consume, and fall in love with content.
What You'll Do
Dive into interviews, surveys, usability tests, and data to decode what users really want. Uncover pain points and patterns across India’s many languages and quirks.
Basically, be the friendly detective who turns “hmm” into “aha!”
- Problem Definition: Translate user insights and business requirements into clear problem statements and user stories.
- Ideation & Concepting: Brainstorm and generate creative solutions, ranging from rough sketches and wireframes to detailed user flows and interactive prototypes.
- UI/UX Design: Design intuitive and visually compelling user interfaces for our web and mobile applications, ensuring consistency with our design system and brand guidelines.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and Data Scientists throughout the product development lifecycle to ensure feasibility and successful implementation of designs.
- Iteration & Testing: Conduct usability testing, A/B tests, and analyze data to validate design decisions, gather feedback, and iterate on designs for continuous improvement.
- Design System Contribution: Contribute to and maintain our evolving design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across all Pratilipi products.
- Advocacy: Champion user-centered design principles within the organization and advocate for the best possible user experience.
What We're Looking For
- 1-3 years of experience as a Product Designer, ideally within a fast-paced consumer tech or content platform environment with a strong focus on visual design and crafting beautiful, pixel-perfect user interfaces.
- A strong portfolio showcasing exceptional design skills, your end-to-end design process, and ability to create stunning UI across diverse platforms (web and mobile). Must demonstrate strong aesthetic sensibility and attention to visual details.
- A growth-first mindset, comfortable breaking down problems, iterating quickly on both functionality and visual polish, with the ability to ship beautiful products fast.
- Experience conducting user research and synthesizing insights into actionable design recommendations that balance user needs with beautiful, functional interfaces.
- Proficiency in modern design tools (e.g., Figma is a must-have).
- Ability to articulate design decisions clearly, present your work effectively to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong empathy for users, particularly understanding the nuances of Indian user behavior and preferences.
Bonus Points If You Have
- Experience designing for content platforms or UGC products.
- Motion design experience is valued - familiarity with tools like Lottie, After Effects, or similar animation platforms is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools for workflow optimization.
