Jr. UX Designer

We’re looking for a Junior UX Designer to join our high-impact product and design team. You’ll collaborate closely with our current UX Designer, Head of Product, and Product Managers to help create intuitive, visually engaging, and impactful experiences for our users. This internship is hands-on — you’ll be contributing to live projects across web and mobile platforms, learning directly from experienced product and design leaders.

Your work will span the full UX process: from research and user journey mapping to wireframing, prototyping, and collaborating on implementation. You’ll also gain exposure to emerging tools, including AI-assisted design, to enhance creativity and efficiency, and you’ll have the opportunity to deepen your understanding of technical concepts that improve collaboration with engineers.

This role is based in our New York City office and requires being on-site 4 days a week. You’ll report directly to the Head of Product and have the potential to convert into a full-time Junior UX Designer position.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist in user research activities — interviews, usability testing, and feedback sessions — to understand user needs and behaviors.
  • Create user flows, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes for web and mobile experiences.
  • Apply responsive design principles and platform-specific guidelines (Material Design, Apple HIG).
  • Contribute to building, maintaining, and evolving design systems for consistency and scalability.
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure accurate and feasible implementation of designs.
  • Present design ideas, process, and rationale to teammates and stakeholders.
  • Iterate on designs based on user feedback, usability testing, and performance data.
  • Explore and integrate AI and generative tools into the UX workflow.
  • Learn and apply technical concepts (e.g., component structures, basic HTML/CSS) to better align design with implementation.

What You Bring

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in UX Design, HCI, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • A portfolio (student or professional) showing strong UX process, clear design thinking, and examples of shipped or live projects.
  • Proficiency in Figma, including components, variables, auto layout, and experience working with design systems.
  • Understanding of user-centered design principles, usability heuristics, and responsive design best practices.
  • Openness to AI-based tools and a willingness to experiment with new workflows.
  • Interest in learning technical concepts to strengthen collaboration with engineering.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Bonus: Awareness of HTML/CSS, accessibility best practices, or prior experience in fintech, SaaS, or e-commerce.

Why Join Bridge?

  • Drive Real-World Impact: Design experiences that make it easier for businesses to access the capital they need to grow.
  • Cross-Platform UX: Work on projects spanning web, mobile, and emerging digital touchpoints.
  • Collaborate in Person: Join a creative, product-focused team working together in our NYC office 4 days a week.
  • Mission-Driven: Help us make financing more transparent, inclusive, and efficient.

What We Offer

  • Paid internship with potential to convert to full-time.
  • Direct mentorship from the Head of Product and our UX Designer.
  • On-site work environment fostering collaboration and creativity.
  • Opportunities to own meaningful projects and see them shipped to production.
  • Professional development budget and access to modern design tools (including AI-enhanced workflows).

Our Values

We believe access to capital shouldn’t depend on who you know or how big your business is. We’re leveling the playing field with tech, design, and transparency. If you’re passionate about UX, fintech, and building tools that solve real-world problems — we’d love to meet you.

Equal Opportunity

  • Bridge is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
