WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Contributing to maintaining and documenting the design system, including helping update the component library.
  • Defining interaction details such as states, validation, empty/error states, and focus/hover behavior.
  • Designing UI aligned with Angular Material patterns and component behavior.
  • Preparing design assets and notes to support efficient developer handoff.
  • Collaborating with engineers during implementation and support design QA.
  • Supporting responsive design and accessibility standards.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • BA or BS degree in Design, HCI, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 1-3 years of UI or digital product design experience.
  • Portfolio required; should demonstrate strong UI craft and explain design decisions.
  • Strong visual design skills, including layout, typography, spacing, hierarchy, and color theory.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong eye for pixel-level UI quality and able to produce clean, consistent designs that translate well to development.
  • Solid understanding of interaction design principles and component behavior.
  • Familiarity with accessibility fundamentals.
  • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and interest in learning front-end concepts; experience with component-based frameworks is a plus.
  • Desire to build for the long term with scalable, flexible design systems.
  • Strong proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools (Figma preferred).
  • Clear communicator who collaborates well with engineers and cross-functional partners.
  • A growth mindset and ability to adapt in a fast-moving environment.
  • The following items are preferred but not required:
